With a Grand matron bow and faith and enough attack speed, you can hit the same breakpoint (2.5 attacks per second) as a Matriarchal bow with much more damage. However, with Windforce at the 2.2 attacks per second breakpoint, you do more damage over time because of the higher max.
Axes share a lot of the same good runewords as swords, but tend to have a higher average damage than swords, though it's close. Maces have a higher overall damage (generally), but less average damage, so it's spikey, and those times you hit for huge damage will be balanced out with pitiful hits down the road.
A Martial Arts Assassin can certainly do hell difficulty, but I'd have to say that a Trapper is more effective. Non-immunes are fine. Lightning Sentry will rip them to shreds. For immunes, you can use Death Sentry (which has a built-in corpse explosion). You can also put points in Fire Blast if you're having problems.

Get DS up to 9. That's all ya need. At 9 it becomes mana free, which makes you mana burn immune which is a damn great thing. It also completely negates any usage of mana steal, which is also a good thing. A barb can handle Duriel pretty easily if you build him right.
As for builds for a bowzon there are 3 builds that you can use, and you can also use two of them together. Physical Build. Ice Maiden. Firezon. Physical. 20 Multishot/strafe (Multishot only needs to be ~lvl10 anymore is too high of a mana drain unless you have a high Mana leech) 20 guided arrow. Ice Maiden.
